This is the first time these supplements have been changed since Medicare standardized Medicare supplements in 1992. These changes will overhaul the entire system as other Medicare supplement providers who have become too expensive will be able to refile with the states and become more attractive to Medicare beneficiaries. The effect of these changes will be a much needed relief for many senior who are looking to find more affordable options.
